Club Heat

COLD OPENING Septmber 20, 2024…and just getting hotter

Welcome to The Temp, where boundaries blur, temperatures rise, and history flickers in and out of focus. Our first show, Club Heat, takes its name from a mysterious, possibly apocryphal gay bar that might have once lived in this very space. Though no records exist, the whispers from the community say it was real—its exact location and details remain elusive, like the haze of a late-night dance floor. In honor of this elusive history, we’re inviting artists to bring their most electrifying, boundary-blurring work. Club Heat is an open invitation to create art that turns up the temperature, that changes the climate—socially, personally, atmospherically. It’s a space for work that is boundariless and fuzzy, that exists under the radar, known to only a few. Maybe it’s apocryphal, maybe it’s hidden in plain sight, maybe it’s illicit or invincible. So what will you bring to Club Heat?
